ARTIST SHOWCASE: TALIA MAZZARA

Talia Mazzara’s work begins in rhythm.

Join us at The Carpenter’s House for an evening featuring the layered, tactile paintings of Puget Sound–based artist Talia Mazzara, whose abstract works explore the relationship between faith, movement, and sensory experience through richly textured surfaces and intuitive composition.

Working across acrylic, resin, fiber, and modeling paste, Mazzara creates pieces that invite slow observation and physical presence. Her paintings balance softness with structure, gloss with texture, and stillness with motion, building dimensional surfaces that shift as viewers move through the space. Each work carries a sense of cadence and emotion rooted in her earliest creative language: music.

Originally from Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, Mazzara began her artistic journey through songwriting and vocal performance, spending her teenage years immersed in studio sessions and musical collaboration. Over time, as life evolved through marriage and motherhood, her creative practice transformed. Painting emerged as a new way to express what could no longer be spoken through song alone.

Deeply informed by faith and prophetic imagery, Mazzara approaches art as both interpretation and offering. Inspired in part by Exodus 35 and the idea of creativity as a divinely shared gift, her process is guided less by rigid planning and more by intuition, rhythm, and emotional resonance. Layers accumulate organically, revealing surfaces that feel alive with movement, memory, and reflection.

Throughout the evening, guests are invited to experience Mazzara’s collection up close while enjoying live music, conversation, and the atmosphere of the gallery. Light snacks and wine will be available.

A silent auction featuring one of Mazzara’s works will be open during the event, offering guests the opportunity to bring home a piece from the collection.
