START YOUR RETAIL PRESENCE
We’re opening three curated retail spaces inside the gallery for makers, vintage curators, indie brands, or entrepreneurs with retail dreams, who want a physical home for their brands without the overhead of a standalone storefront.
Our Philosophy
The Carpenter’s House is a curated destination for craft, design, and community. Our retail partners aren’t tenants — they’re part of a small, intentional lineup of goods that reflects the same care and curation as our gallery program.
WE BELIEVE:
- Great retail is curated, not crowded
- Small brands grow faster in the right context
- Foot traffic is more valuable when the audience already values craft
Retail Opportunities
Three dedicated retail spaces inside The Carpenter’s House, activated by gallery hours, exhibition openings, workshops, and after-hours programming.
RETAIL SPACES INCLUDE:
- Dedicated retail footprint (see sizing below)
- Access during all public gallery hours
- Inclusion in gallery marketing, social media, and email newsletter
- One partner-hosted event per quarter to activate your space (trunk show, launch, tasting, etc.)
- Signage placement and mention on our website
- Foot traffic driven by exhibitions, workshops, and evening programming

IDEAL PARTNERS
We’re building a small, intentional group of retail partners whose work reflects the same craft and curation as the gallery. Strong fits include:
- Vintage curators & antique dealers
- Gifts, stationery, & paper goods
- Home & housewares
- Ceramics, woodwork, & other handmade goods
- Small-batch pantry, apothecary, or candles
- Plants & botanical goods
- Books & printed matter
Apparel considered on a case-by-case basis. We’re prioritizing goods over clothing to maintain a distinct identity within the local retail landscape.
PARTNERS PROVIDE:
We help set our partners up for success. We have controlled access, 24-hour security and the infrastructure you need for success. We ask partners to provide:
- POS system and payment processing
- Sales tax collection and reporting
- Inventory management
- Their own fixtures, subject to curatorial guidelines
- Staffing during any partner-only sales hours
READY TO SET UP SHOP?
Every retail partner is reviewed by our curatorial team to make sure your work complements the gallery aesthetic and the other partners in the space. This isn’t gatekeeping — it’s what protects the value of the space for everyone in it.
These spaces work equally well as a small retail shop or as a maker’s showroom. Woodworkers, ceramicists, and other makers who want a place to show finished work, take custom orders, and meet clients are encouraged to apply.
Send Macala an email to talk about your ideas.
